    Megan Lopez

    Founder & Owner

Megan guides yoga for the young and “young at heart”, including moms, babies & toddlers + kids. She started teaching kids yoga in 2016, while also working as a guidance counselor, and had previously taught dance to little ones. Young at Heart came to be in 2022, after 6 years of running her previous kid’s yoga business.

Having three girls of her own has only furthered her passion for guiding children in this practice, from the start. Her training/certifications include Strala: Kids Yoga Teacher Training & The Art of Sequencing, Kidding Around Yoga: KAY & PreKAY, Bella Prana’s Prenatal Training & Purple Dot Yoga Project’s Trauma Informed Training.

  • Kaitlyn Tracey

    Lead Teacher & COO

Kaitlyn found solace in yoga during one of her most challenging periods in 2020; it became her guiding light towards love, wellness, and healing. In June 2022, she successfully completed The Lotus Pond's 200-hour YTT.

Alongside her yoga journey, Kaitlyn's passion for understanding behavior and mental health led her to pursue a BA in Psychology and Minor in Creative Writing from USF, graduating in December 2022. Currently engaged in her 300-hour advanced YTT, Kaitlyn seamlessly weaves her psychological insights into her yoga teachings, fostering a holistic approach to wellness. Drawing from her academic background, she creates a nurturing environment in her classes, where children not only learn yoga but also develop greater self-love, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.

Outside of her yoga practice, Kaitlyn works as a nanny during the day, where her work with children serves as both a profession and a passion, further fueling her commitment to fostering empathy and resilience in young minds. This integration of psychology, yoga, and childcare aims to empower her students to navigate life's challenges with resilience and compassion, contributing to a more empathetic and inclusive world.

    Teacher

Mary is a registered yoga teacher (RYT, RPYT) who brings warmth, creativity, and presence to every class she leads. With a background in education and a heart for working with young people, Mary creates playful, supportive spaces where children can explore movement, breath, and mindfulness in age-appropriate ways. Her classes encourage confidence, self-awareness, and joy.

  • Marcy White

    Teacher

Marcy has been a public-school teacher since 1995 working with preschoolers with special needs. She has trained colleagues on fine motor and curriculum development over the years while also earning National Board Certification in Early Childhood.

After finding yoga for herself in 2000, she brought it to her students. Finding that yoga supported not only her students’ motor skills but their social emotional skills (SEL) she sought formal yoga certification. She believes that academic learning is best achieved when students have strong SEL skills; self-awareness, self-management, and knowing how to develop social relationships help to create confident citizens.

In 2019 she completed her 200 yoga training hours and brought yoga, including mindfulness, to her colleagues. Two years later she achieved certification in kid yoga and started an after-school camp at her elementary school.

She is thrilled to have found that YH shares her passion and is actively involved in the Tampa Bay community. She is excited to be a part of the YH team sharing her curriculum knowledge, child development skills, and love for seeing kids grow.
