How to use this page:
Print the Brave Badge coloring page.
Follow the steps below.
Come back to this ritual anytime your child needs a little boost.
What is “being brave”?
Being brave means noticing a scared or nervous feeling and choosing to try, ask for help, or speak up anyway.
You can tell your child:
“Being brave doesn’t mean you’re never scared. It means you feel a bit nervous and still choose to do the kind thing, the true thing, or the new thing.”
Big feelings are normal—for kids and grown-ups.
This badge reminds your child: I can do hard things with a brave heart.
How to Use Your Brave Badge
Step 1: Talk about brave moments & Practice a Power Pose
Before you color, have a quick heart-to-heart.
You might ask:
“Can you remember a time you felt nervous but tried anyway?”
“When have you felt proud of yourself recently?”
“Who do you think of when you think of someone brave? Why?”
Affirm anything they share. There are no wrong answers here.
Step 2: Make the Brave Badge
Now bring the ritual to life on the page.
Color the badge together.
Sit somewhere cozy. Let them choose the colors and decorate their “I Am Brave” badge any way they like.Choose where it lives.
Decide together where the badge will stay so they can see or “visit” it often:On the bedroom wall
By the front door
Inside a notebook or folder
On the fridge
You can say:
“This is your Brave Badge. It will help you remember how strong your heart already is.”
Step 3: The Brave Badge Ritual
Use this simple ritual anytime your child needs extra courage—before school, a new activity, a hard conversation, or even a dentist visit.
Brave Badge Ritual:
Touch the badge.
Have your child place a hand on their Brave Badge (or imagine it if you’re not at home).Take three Brave Breaths.
Inhale slowly through the nose
Exhale slowly through the mouth
Repeat three times
Add a Power Pose (optional bonus).
While they take their three breaths, invite them to stand in their favorite power pose:
“Feet wide, shoulders back, chin up, heart open.”Say a simple brave phrase.
Choose one together, like:“I can do hard things.”
“My heart is strong.”
“I am safe and loved.”
That’s it—short, sweet, and repeatable.
